Beauty Tips as written by Audrey Hepburn

After browsing the internet on how Audrey Hepburn managed to stay slim, there wasn’t much that can be found except for a poem that was said to be referring to Audrey’s beauty secrets. But apart from that, we believe that it was more of the poverty factor way back when she was little that took a great toll on her adult weight. People who have known Audrey stated that there was a time when she would only have a meal composed of eating tulips-based flour for most of the time.

For an exercise routine, she didn’t have any, in terms of going to the gym or adhering to exercising equipments and all that. Instead, she took some ballet lessons during her younger years that helped her to shape up.

To set the records straight, upon some research, we found out that this poem was not actually written by Audrey but rather it was one of her favorites. This was originally composed by Sam Levenson which was a piece dedicated to his grandchild. It was only quoted to be from Audrey since it was one of the last poems she read to her beloved children before she passed away.

  • Choose your foods wisely. Make sure you would have two different nutrients at separate meal time (such as protein and complex carbohydrates). Various nutrients call for different digestive process. Eating them together pushes the digestive system to work overtime for processing the foods and .
  • Plan your meals right. How? You should have the proper meal combination. If you would have protein and vegetables in the mornings, then set the afternoon for carbohydrates and vegetables. This would make the digestion time less and proper nutrition is absorbed well.
  • Eat carbs in small portions. It is ideal to have only a cup of cooked pasta or rice or have 2 slices of whole grain bread. Match it with 3 to 4 servings of your favorite veggie dishes.
  • Use fresh vegetables when preparing your meals. Make your meals more interesting by adding in different flavors from herbs and spices. In example, sauté garlic using olive oil the mix in spinach, raw red pepper, avocado, onion and black olives.
  • Have some meat or fish-based dishes along with a serving of various veggies. Combining three veggies in one dish is recommendable. You would not only enjoy the variety of flavors in the dish but you also get high nutritional value for your meal. Do not include breads and potato in your dishes or meal preparations as this would only cause a feeling of bloating and a sleepy feeling.
  • If you eat foods that are made from animal fats for most of the time, chances are, you feel too tired often. This is because these food types take too much time for digestion. Once you eliminate a large consumption of such in your diet you are likely to feel a great difference in your energy level.
  • Give an interval of 4 hours before eating another meal. You would be providing your digestive system of much needed time to process the foods well from your prior meal.
  • If you love fruits then it is indeed a good point in terms of nutritional value. But fruits have high sugar contents that may take a stressful time for the digestive system to process. We are not saying that you should rid off fruits from your diet altogether but rather consume them alone with no other foods to accompany it.
  • Avoid drinking while you eat. Any liquids may interfere with the normal juices in the digestive system hence taking it a long period of time for your system to do its job.
  • Lastly, know your body. If you have any sensitivity to some foods know what they are and avoid consuming them as much as possible. You would be straining your digestive system and nutrients would only go to waste as they would not be properly absorbed.

Everybody tends to go “ooh” and “wow” whenever someone passes by and their flat or six-pack abs are showing. It may have been a long term belief that doing a couple of sit-up exercises is the best way to achieve flatter abs but the truth is it’s considerably a mere step one.

Do not forget that dieting along does not pertain to the food that you eat daily but also the incorporation of exercises that targets the cardio vascular area. If you can do this for half an hour daily or for 5 sessions a week, you can be sure to see a flatter abs in no time.

As mentioned bloating is a culprit for failing in your flat abs goal and constipation also mixes in. You better treat these conditions quickly and do not take them for granted to be a mere health conditions. Try to eat more foods that contain probiotics such as yogurt. This contains live and beneficial bacteria that help in proper digestion. Fiber such as Psyllium husk can help you get everything into place. Just make sure to drink lots of water or preferably 8 glasses of it in a day.

As for the foods that you need to stay away from, this would include carbonated drinks, some vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower. Legumes are a no-no so it would be best to stick to nuts for this one.
